I'm knitting a monkeh
I am not really an impulse knitter, but Maha said "I want a monkey", small problem because 'i don't like monkeys' so I spent the time and found a monkey pattern I could get my head around - 1. it's based on a Jim Henson character from the Creature Shop, and 2. well it's a British "monkeh". ITV and Johnny Vegas etc, here.

it's ADORABLE ..
Oh my gosh, thank you, thank you, thank you! I've never knitted anythign in my life but I am DETERMINED to make this monkey for my son who has pined for one for over a year now. I'm having the worst time though. Dont' lagh but I started with the body and haven't been able to make it past row 11. I've pulled the entire thing out about 35 times - no exaggeration. I'm so frustrated. Is it just me or is this pattern wrong?? *laugh* I alwyas seem to end up with the wrong amount of stitches after three or four rows of the right amount of stitches and honest to goodness I'm being careful as a soul can be. The worst one was where I was on row ten or 11 with fairly OK success when all of a sudden it shows that I'm supposed to do as row 3 which is the purl row and it' will come out as a row of purling on the V side. Totally wrong. I have no clue How I went so horribly wrong! Do you have any suggestions?? Either way thanks for sharing your successfully made digital monkey!

me again (sorry!) I also wanted to ask you another question since you seem to be quite the expert with your awesome Texas star scarf.
I want to make the monkey's mouth wider by two inches. How would one go about changing the pattern in it's current form:
